Starting a "Mouseroots" Movement

All good ideas have to start from scratch. This concept is no different online than it is in any “real world” setting, except that IT offers a variety of tools to help. A grassroots movement relies on its supporters to spread a message through “word of mouth” that leads to exponential growth. The goal of a “mouseroots” movement is based on the “word of the mouse” and knowledge of how information is spread online. There is little that differentiates an online and offline campaign and the most beneficial campaigns span multiple mediums.

It’s about determining who your target audience is and what they would like. In the web design and online marketing industry, the audience is primarily looking for tips for success. Keeping your audience intrigued is the most important part of any campaign. There are unlimited possibilities and ideas. Do a little research on successful campaigns from both yourself and your competitors.

Every article I write, I ask myself “Who will read this?” and that is what determines the content, the style and the language. The same aspect should apply to all marketing efforts as well. If you create a new ad, the type of demographics you are targeting and marketing to this audience will be asked. When sending email marketing, audiences are often separated across a variety of demographic databases. So how do you write for your audience on your blog or other online media? Start by creating good categories and tags. Once this structure is established, then you should think of an attractive and creative title. After everything is complete, analyze the read rates, comments and other comments to determine how to make the next article even better.
