Help for facial warts

Today’s society places great emphasis on appearance. The women and men who appear on television and in magazines have perfect skin, without freckles or warts. Imagine opening your favorite magazine and seeing a model with a wart on her face. You’d think it was disgusting and wonder how the image got printed. It’s no wonder that anyone who develops a facial wart panics. It’s vain and unfair, but unfortunately society wants beautiful and perfect people.

Facial warts are not uncommon. You may develop one at some point in your life, but try to take it easy. With patience, understanding, and a good sense of humor, you will survive.

If you have the most common type of facial wart, a flat wart, you can cover it up with a concealer. You can find this at any retail store or drug store. Find a concealer that matches your skin tone, apply it, and blend well. For men, this should be all they have to do; women may want to add foundation on top of the concealer. Creams tend to work best when they cover a flat wart.

Other types of warts are not as easy to cover. You can use a good concealer cream to lessen the appearance, but the wart will still be visible. Covering the wart with a bandage may work, but you can expect questions about what happened. The best way to camouflage a raised wart is to draw attention away from your face. Wear a colorful scarf or a creative tie, accent your outfit with jewelry, or style your hair in a different way. Others will notice your wonderful and creative style instead of the wart on your face. Also keep in mind that people tend to see themselves in a worse light than others. You may look in the mirror and see a three-inch wart, while others barely notice it’s there. Don’t judge yourself too harshly.

When it comes to a facial wart, home treatments are readily available, but not recommended. The skin is fragile and some remedies are too harsh and can cause irritation or infection, which can be worse than the wart itself. Doctors can prescribe medication that will dissolve the wart; however, that can take time, up to several weeks. If you are not in a hurry and can deal with the wart, this is your best option.

To quickly get rid of a facial wart, the best option is cryotherapy, which involves freezing the mole and cutting it out later. A licensed physician or dermatologist can do this quickly in the office and requires little healing time. Another option is laser removal. The results are immediate, it is relatively painless and there is little healing time. The biggest disadvantage of this choice is the possibility of a permanent scar.

A facial wart doesn’t have to be a huge stressor. With proper treatment, you will be rid of it and have something to look back on with laughter. Keep a positive attitude and flash your winning smile and you’ll be fine.
