Collage, Mosaic and Montage
Assembly is the process (and result) of making a composite photograph by cutting and stitching together several other photographs.
Usually this is accomplished by using image editing software. Professionals refer to the technique as “composition.”
A similar technique called linkage it is considered as a work of visual arts made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole. Mosaic It is the art of decorating with small pieces of colored glass, stone or other material. It can be a decorative art technique, an aspect of interior decoration, or of cultural and spiritual significance such as in a cathedral.
A mosaic of tiles is a digital image made up of individual tiles, arranged so that they do not overlap, for example to create a static image in a shower room or on the floor of a swimming pool, dividing the image into square pixels formed by from ceramic mosaics.
These digital images are coarse resolution and often simply express text, such as pool depth in various places, but some of these digital images are used to show a sunset or other beach theme. Obviously the digital images expressed in ceramic tile are of very low resolution.
Collages, montages, and mosaics are fun to create, and the results are often truly amazing. Montages and collages can be used for many things, it is nice to create memorable event montages, to make wallpapers or wall stickers, or even to prepare an interesting congratulatory montage.
