Expansions are often created just to improve what is already successful. With the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion, this also proves the same. The Wrath of the Lich King promises to improve upon the already proven and widely acclaimed gameplay and visuals of the previous expansion. However, Blizzard Entertainment is going a step further by introducing something new to the game, a new “objectives and rewards system”, if we can. This system is called the Achievement System and it is a new feature that is sure to make any player more eager to play the expansion. What it is:
Achievements reflect everything you’ve done within the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Whether it’s exploring the new world, fighting the environment (PvE), fighting other players (PvP), or simply developing your character, everything has a corresponding achievement. Once you achieve an achievement, you will receive rewards in the form of titles, pets, or tabards. Although the rewards are purely vanity and have no real use in fighting, having them will surely show other people how much you have done.
Where to find it:
This player achievements preview wouldn’t be complete without telling you where to find your achievements in the window. On your main action bar, you will find a new button. Clicking on that will bring up the Achievements window. At the top of the window, you’ll see the points you’ve collected for achieving achievements. Below that, you’ll see each of your achievements, their descriptions, value, and even the completion date.

All players are proud of their character, and those who say they don’t care are lying. First, you can compare your achievements with others by right-clicking on another character. An option will tell you how to compare your achievements with yours. WoW takes care of the rest of the “bragging” because every time you complete an achievement, it’s automatically announced to the guild you belong to, or to everyone in the area you’re in, with special sounds and added visual effects. How cool is that?
What are its types and categories?
There are several types of achievements. Some are easy and simple, like having to style your character, while others are difficult, like killing 100 guild leaders. Others need to be tried or achieved only once, while others need to be done repeatedly.
