The Dos and Don’ts of Posting on Our LinkedIn Company Page

Dos and Don’ts of Posting on Our LinkedIn Company Page

A LinkedIn Company Page is an excellent tool for a small business to attract and engage with potential customers, employees, and partners. But, like any other platform, LinkedIn has a lot of unwritten rules and best practices that aren’t always obvious. Using the platform without knowing these dos and don’ts can lead to a lackluster Page that doesn’t meet your company’s goals.

Do: Keep your posts informative and useful. This will build engagement and trust with your followers. Provide a mix of content, including articles, videos, and polls. Publish content that is relevant to your audience, whether it’s about your company or an industry topic. Be sure to share relevant links as well.

Don’t: Focus too much on sales and promotions. Posting too many updates about products and services will only detract from the value of your Page and your engagement. Rather than selling directly, try offering valuable tips and advice. Posting helpful information and resources will encourage your audience to interact with your content, which is the key to growing your page and your business.

Do: Use a clear and concise headline. You only get 120 characters before LinkedIn cuts off the view and requires a user to “expand”. Make sure your headline clearly conveys what your company does and why your product or service is important to your audience.

Avoid using too much jargon in your headline and throughout your content. If you are speaking to your audience in a way that is difficult for them to understand, it will be hard for them to build trust with your company. Don’t overuse abbreviations or shorthand either – these can be confusing to readers.

Do: Maintain a consistent look and feel across your content and your social media channels. This will create a consistent brand for your company and make it easy for visitors to recognize and remember you. Make sure your profile picture, logo, and color scheme match up with your website and other digital marketing materials. It’s also a good idea to update your Company Page imagery regularly based on current events, marketing campaigns, and holidays.

Enhance Your LinkedIn Company Page Growth

Don’t: Forget to be aware of your activity broadcast settings. LinkedIn allows you to choose which of your updates should be visible to your entire network, to those who follow your Page, or to specific groups. If you accidentally select the “all” option, your entire network will receive the same notification for every update you make on your Page – which is likely not the desired result.

Boost the Growth of Your LinkedIn Company Page

Do: Get your staff involved in reposting your company’s content. Not only will this help drive engagement, but it will also expand the reach of your content by leveraging your staff’s existing networks. Be sure to give your team clear guidelines on how to post, when to post, and which content they should share. This will help them to represent your company in a professional manner, and help to avoid any negative comments or feedback.

LinkedIn, like any social media platform, is constantly evolving. Stay updated on new features, changes in algorithm, and best practices. Monitor your performance metrics regularly and adapt your strategy accordingly.
