Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban review
“Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” is the third book in the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling. This book contains the magical world of Harry Potter. Once again, author Rowling creates a masterpiece. This book has so many turning points that it helps build the next books in the series. This book is one of the main books in the Harry Potter series.
Many new characters are introduced here along with Harry’s godfather Sirius Black, new Professor Remus Lupine, and Death Eater Peter Pettigrew.
As young wizard Harry Potter begins his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he discovers that something creepy is happening about the mass murderer Sirius Black. Sirius is the first person to escape from the Azkaban Wizarding Prison. Harry, Ron, and Hermione try to find out more about Sirius and suddenly identify that Sirius was James Potter’s best friend and Harry’s godfather. Sirius is a Death Eater who betrayed Harry’s parents and sold them to Lord Voldemort. And now he’s willing to kill Harry too.
Professor Ramus Lupine was also the best friend of James Potter, who is the new defense against the professor of dark arts. Harry learns a lot from him. He even learns the spell that works against dementors. Dementors are the guards of Azkaban. They can suck the happiness out of anyone and their “kiss” is even more dangerous. They can suck the soul out of your body and turn it into a dead one. Whenever Harry is around dementors, he falls ill and learns to defend himself.
Professor Trelawney is Harry’s divination teacher who gives a prophecy about Voldemort and his allies in front of Harry. Hagrid becomes the care teacher for the magical creatures class, which makes Harry, Ron, and Hermione very charming. In Hagrid’s first class, Buckbeak, who is a hippogriff, insults Dracco. For this reason, Buckbeak has been sentenced to death by the ministry.
Harry cannot go on the Hogsmeade trip because his uncle did not sign the form. But he wants to go wrong and so he wears his invisibility watch. But Fred and George find him and give him a Marauders Map which is basically a Hogwarts map with all its secret passages. With the help of this map, Harry can go to Hogsmeade. When Sirius breaks into the Gryffindor common room, there is very tight security at the school. Harry cannot go to Hogsmeade using the map.
When Harry, Ron and Hermione visit Hagrid on the day of Buckbeak’s death, a large dog, who Ron thought “The Grim” but is actually the Animagus Sirius, attacks Ron for his rat. This rat is actually an Animagus, Peter Pettigrew. Peter is another best friend of James. Harry identifies that, it was Peter who betrayed his parents and sold them to Voldemort as he is a Death Eater. All the charges against Sirius are wrong and he is actually a good man. Find out that it was James, Sirius, Remus, and Peter who wrote the Marauders’ Map. James, Sirius, and Peter are unregistered Animagi as Remus is a werewolf. Sirius and Remus want to kill Peter, but Harry wants to reveal the truth and lead him to the Dementors.
But suddenly Remus transforms into a werewolf and Peter escapes and the dementors attack Sirius. At that moment, Harru and Hermione rescued Sirius and Buckbeak at Dumbledore’s suggestion and with the help of the time turner Hermione was using during the quarter.
Rowling uses so many ideas in this book that they are the basis for future books. This book is a central book in the Harry Potter series. Basically I am a potter. Harry Potter was, is and will always be my best companion forever. I personally recommend that one take the time to read this book. This book should be on the list of all-time favorite books.
