Fear of change? – How to overcome it easily and increase your confidence

When faced with change, most people invariably feel insecure, lost, and overwhelmed.

Still, do you agree with me that life without any kind of change would not only be monotonous but also inconceivable?

After all, one aspect of why we all love to live is the excitement and anticipation of the unexpected in our lives.

Here’s a thought for you. What do you tell yourself after you’ve had a really bad day?

If you’re like most people, you’ll probably be glad it’s over when you go to bed. Maybe say something like this: “Ugh, I’m so glad, this day is over… I wonder what tomorrow brings!” Waiting for a change.

See what I mean? Every day brings some form of change in our lives. In fact these small changes are crucial. Because they offer new opportunities and create space for adjustments.

So why are many people afraid to face the changes, if they are there to help us?

In psychology there are a number of reasons that can make a person afraid of change. But I am not going to launch into a psychodebate about the dysfunctionality of the mind here.

What I want to do is show you how you can quickly and easily banish those fears and enjoy a sense of freedom and inner security.

Fact 1.: People who are passionate about growing are never afraid of change. Changing them is just another way to take charge and live fully.

Regardless of their positions in life, they know that it is of the utmost importance to keep an open mind and stay alert in spirit. Because nothing in life stays the same.

Fact 2. You cannot wish for a change. Your life will become more attractive and abundant when you can let go of your fear.

So without further ado.

Build a strong relationship with your fear.

When a new change comes your way, tell yourself what you fear and look at the fear. You may even want to write it down. There is something magical in writing things down.

Feel like you’re trusting another person, even if it’s only on paper. Once you face your fear, you will find that it begins to lose its power over you. Instead of becoming a slave, you now have the upper hand.

Play devil’s advocate.

One of the reasons for our fear of change is often that we feel inadequate. We feel that we are unable to handle a new situation.

If this is your case, just look at yourself in the worst case.

Get comfortable and allow your mind to relive the various stages of what you fear at least twice. The third time let the fear go up in smoke.

See yourself emerging from it healthy, peaceful, and invincible. He feels the joy of being in charge and the triumph of knowing that fear is just a shadow.

Take back your innate power.

I know how frustrating it can be if you are trying to move forward and find yourself held back by fear.

Once you’ve resurfaced feeling invincible, you’ll want to use that momentum to turn things around.

To do this, ask yourself this question: “what simple action can I take here and now to start moving in my new direction?”

Wait for the answer to come up. So do it without stagnating. If you have multiple ideas, just apply the one you think is easiest for you first. Moving on to other ideas after having completed the previous ones.

Test the waters for “gremlins” on the prowl.

To make sure that you are now embarking on a steady path to overcoming your fear of change, do the following.

Knowingly submitting to your uncomfortable feelings around changes from time to time. This is to help him recognize the fear that he haunts, that is, the “gremlins”.

Watch how you react: Do you shut down immediately or find yourself trying to get creative with the feelings?

The more constructively you can deal with your feelings of restlessness about change, the faster you can overcome your fear of change.

I am a firm believer in asking for inner guidance. So if he still struggles with fear, don’t let him feel down, pray for help. Works like a charm!

Laugh a lot, be happy and give yourself to others. A heart full of joy and trust has no place for fear.

Take the time to integrate these steps into your life. Before long, you’ll find yourself becoming more and more excited about the new possibilities. The more you can connect to and activate your innate power, the less likely you are to be afraid of change.
