The smart Toyota Etios review

Toyota Etios is the new red-hot favorite on the motoring circuits. The car was unveiled at the Delhi auto expo in 2010. It is considered a strong rival to the Tata Indigo CS, Maruti Swift Dzire, Honda city and the Indigo CS. It has flexible variant options in the Indian market with a gasoline engine. In fact, the Etios craze is so great that the company had to delay its own Toyota Liva model by a couple of months.

Exterior: Exteriors bring a big smile with their attractive grill giving a luxurious feel. This spark on the grill is a sure shot for the Indian audience. The kits are really exciting, which is a bonus on the Toyota Etios. The body tone is maintained even for the parts of the doors and mirrors. It looks like a serious machine with its shoulder line and the cut in the bottom corner. The wheels are another feather in the cap with metal alloys. Headlights and fog lights complement the entire exterior body.

Interior: The interior is a contemporary fashion that is definitely on trend. There is enough space for a comfortable feeling. The instrument compartment is above the central air conditioning giving a mean look. The driver’s steering is multicolored as with all the interior comforts. It surely has more breathing room compared to the Maruti Swift. You’ll never lose track with the trip and speed meter located under the instrument panel. The air conditioning vents are circular with well upholstered seats compared to other cars with a similarly complementary dashboard.

Security: Security is nothing short of a James Bond movie innovation. It comes with advanced safety features like Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Dual SRS airbags, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). General features like power windows, power steering, in-dash music arrangement, steering mounted audio control system, rear wiper or washer, rear defroster, steering adjustments are a full safety test for anyone inside this car.

Engine: The Toyota Etios currently comes in a single engine variant. It offers 90 ps at 5600 rpm and a maximum torque of 132 Nm at 3000 rpm in the domestic market. The fuel efficiency of this car is quite appreciable which seems to be the X factor for most Indian customers. It gives a mileage of 17.6 kmpl as per ARAI reports.

The price of Etios starts at Rs 5,07,000 and goes up to Rs 7,01,500. The Toyota group also expects a diesel version of the Etios in the near future. The Toyota Etios comes in Vermilion Red, Serene Blueish Silver, Symphony Silver, White, Harmony Beige, and Celestial Black.

The Etios is not for the man who shows off, but for a customer who is looking for a car that is worth his while. The Etios may not appeal to you, but you’ll surely want more as you get used to it. This is a machine tailor made for the home feeling with amazing space, comfort, mileage and easy drive.
