The difference between the first, second and third person views of the game
Some of you may not be familiar with the camera view names in the game. Well, if you are currently confused about what exactly is a first person shooter game, then I suggest you continue reading. There are basically two types of camera angles that most games use, first person and third person, second person is generally not that popular even though some games use this angle. The camera angle is how you see the character you’re playing, the term “persona” is used to describe the distance from the main character. Let me explain each camera angle in more detail.
A first person shooter is a game that allows you to see exactly what the character in the game would see. Basically, you are the character in the game, you can see his arms, weapons and legs, just as you see yours now. The first-person shooter genre has expanded with drastic measures in recent years. You’ve probably heard of the world famous Call of Duty franchise, the franchise is one of the few million good examples of a true first-person shooter.

Basically, whenever you view the game from the character’s eyes, and you can see the characters’ body parts and weapons, then you’re playing a first-person shooter.
A second-person shooter is pretty similar, except you don’t see any part of the character you’re controlling. You see the game world through the eyes of the characters, but you don’t see the characters’ bodies at all. A good example of a game that uses the second player perspective would be Myst. The genre of second person games is quite small, most of these games are puzzle games. Here is a screenshot of a second person game.
As you can see from the screenshot, you see what the characters see but you interact with the world usually with the mouse, and the character’s body parts are usually not visible.
Third person games show the character you are controlling from behind, sometimes you can move the camera. Basically, you can see the whole body of your character, usually the legs, head, and back, although some games allow you to move the camera so you can see the character from the front.
