Permanent makeup and fear of pain

Nobody likes pain, but who said it has to hurt? This is the 21st century. Could scientists have created something that numbs so well that it doesn’t feel pain? The answer is a profound “YES”. There are many topical anesthetics available for the technician to numb the area before permanent makeup. The topical cream is applied before the permanent makeup procedure; the timer is set for 15-20 minutes and bingo – numb! Topical anesthetics generally contain any combination of the following: lidocaine, tetracaine, benzocaine, or epinephrine, in an emollient base. Since the effects of pain can include swelling, bleeding, and delayed healing, it is important for both the technician and the client to relieve pain. The safest topicals have a pH balance close to that of human tears, which is 7.5. These products are so numbing that the procedure is very tolerable and that is why so many people are undergoing this!

Eyebrows

With the passage of time, many women begin to lose their eyebrows. Or, if they were waxed or shaved in the 80s, they often didn’t grow back. With permanent makeup, gorgeous brows can be yours without the fuss of faded or smudged pencils. The “After” photo shown on Nancy’s website, referenced in the lower paragraph of this article, shows how color can be placed behind brow hair to give a more sophisticated, polished and finished look.

I’m worried about the word “permanent

o What if I don’t like the color? Oh no!

o What happens if the technician makes a mistake? UPS!

o What if I just don’t like it? Yuck!

Keep Your Horses – Let Me Ease Your Fears! Permanent makeup needs to be applied 2-3 times (4 weeks apart) to be truly permanent. It’s true. The first time you apply permanent makeup, it will be a little darker than you imagined, but much of it will come off when it has healed (2-4 weeks). This means you must come back for additional color applied.

Think of it like painting a house or a car. They require several coats of paint, right? Permanent makeup works the same way. It usually needs to be layered to achieve the desired result. At the end of a procedure, the color will be brighter and darker than the final result. During the 7-14 days of cure, small amounts of pigment will shed during cure; think of it as the body doing its job of expelling the pigment during the healing period. This means that if the color is not correct, the technician can modify it in the touch-up visits. If the technician places the pigment where it shouldn’t be, it will likely come off during the healing period or can be adjusted or removed at the next appointment.

And if you do not like it? Only a very small percentage of people don’t like it. Why? Because they had unrealistic expectations of the procedure to begin with. They probably didn’t do their research to find out what to expect. Ease Your Concerns – Talk to Your Technician and Ask Questions!

Permanent makeup is ingenuity at its finest

Since time began, humans have been decorating their bodies with colors. Permanent makeup is not new nor is it a trend set to go out of style next season. It is here to stay because it is so timeless. It is popular because it is the best ingenuity! If you are applying makeup every day, why not save yourself some time and money and do it permanently? We all know that makeup applied in moderation makes a woman more attractive, if not downright beautiful. What you may not realize is that many women have already had makeup applied permanently.

The perfect brows, lips and eyeliner can be yours with permanent makeup, done subtly, naturally and beautifully, only YOU know you have it. Think about saving time! Looking for that lipstick after a meal because of the embarrassing white, pasty, chalky lips? Imagine now that your lips are permanently colored – a natural baby pink color (or your choice) that you have wanted for eons. If your eyebrows are sparse or your lips are uneven, you are probably a candidate for permanent makeup. Since it is applied so subtly, you don’t have to worry about it being too dark or unnatural. In short, permanent makeup is what women are doing these days, and they are so happy that they finally did it! What are you waiting for?
