Cataclysm Enchanting Gold Guide
Enchanting is clearly one of the best professions for making gold. Everyone needs enchantments. When a player receives a new item, the first thing he does is buy an enchantment (often from the auction house) to put it on. You’ll maximize your profits on Wednesdays because that’s when arenas and raids reset, so people will get a lot of new items on Wednesday night, so always make sure you have your enchantments in the auction house during this time.
Enchantment: This is really easy, if you don’t have an alt enchantment then create one now. Once you’re done, it’s time to start making scrolls.
Because the Enchant mats are different on every server, I can’t guarantee that they will all work equally well for you.
Check the price of Infinite Dust/Greater Cosmic Essence and Nether Crystals on your server before doing any of these.
These are my best sellers:
Enchanted Chest Scroll – Powerful stats. Sold for ~250 gold
you need x4 Dream Shards = 20g (5g ea) x4 Abyssal Crystal = 108g (27g ea) = 128 gold total to make. 250-128=122g pure profit
Weapon – Berserking enchantment scroll. Sells for ~522 gold
Requires x12 Infinite Dust = 18 g (1.5 gc/u) x4 Greater Cosmic Essence = 64 g (16 gc/u) x4 Dream Shard = 20 g (5 gc/u) x10 Nether Crystal = 270 g (27 gc /u) = 372 gold in total to make. 522-372=150g pure profit
Scroll of Enchant Weapon – Might Spellpower. Sold for ~350g
Requires Infinite Dust x30 = 45g (1.5gc/u) Dream Shard x6 = 30g (5gc/u) Nether Crystal x6 = 162 (27gc/u) = 237 total to make. 350-237= 133g of pure profit.
Scroll of Enchant Weapon – Crusader sells for ~237g
Need Large Bright Shard x4 = 18g (4.5gc/u) Fair Orb x2 = 90g (45gc/u) = 108g total to make. 237-108=129g pure profit.
Scroll of Enchanting Chest – Super Stats. Sold for ~70g
Requires Infinite Dust x4 = 6 (1.5 gc/u) Minor Cosmic Essence x2 = 12 g (6 gc/u) = 18 g total to make. 70-18=52g pure profit.
These were just my best sellers, you’ll benefit from just about any scroll you can make, so make sure you have an ample supply stocked up.
Have at least 5 of these at all times and make sure you have the cheapest one in AH at peak times (when people attack/many online).
I don’t recommend selling it on trade, this way you will only earn 5-10 gold, while selling one on AH gives you 100-200 gold.
Search the auction house for 74+ green weapons, they disenchant into major cosmic essence, either 1 or 2 each time, if the weapon is in the AH for less than one major cosmic essence cost, buy it and disenchant it, this works with Lots of other items in the AH like weapons from 43-50 which give you superior lesser essence or 50+ which give you superior eternal essence.
