Atomstack A5 M30 30W Laser Engraver Review

30W Laser Engraver Review

The Atomstack A5 M30 30W Laser Engraver is a well-made laser engraving machine that can be used to create high-quality items such as signs, gifts, woodworking projects and more. This device has a few features that make it stand out from similar models on the market, such as a large work area and high-quality engraving results. In addition, this model also has a built-in laser protective cover to prevent accidental eye injuries and a new design of the adjusting knob that makes it easier and faster to adjust the height of the laser.

The first thing to note about this device is that it is sold as a kit of parts that you must assemble yourself, but the process is not too difficult and only takes about 30 minutes. The assembly is done using a few tools that are included in the box, and all of the parts are made from sturdy aluminum.

Once the engraver is assembled, you can start using it right away. The software that comes with the unit is easy to use and provides a variety of different tools to help you get started. It also includes a few templates to get you started with your designs.

Another great feature of this laser engraver is that it uses a fixed-focus laser. This means that you don’t have to look directly at the laser spot to find the proper size for your engravings, which is a big advantage over traditional lasers. The focusing system is also designed to reduce vibration, which makes it easier to create precise engravings.

This 30w Laser engraving machine is capable of a wide range of materials, including cardboard, non-woven fabric, light wood, acrylic material and thin plastic board. It can also be used to etch metal, glass and PCB boards. Additionally, this device is equipped with a 360-degree laser protective shield that filters out 97% of UV, so you can use the machine without needing to wear goggles.

During our testing, we used the Atomstack A5 Pro to etch a photo and it did a very good job. However, it is important to note that the result might be less detailed than with the Sculpfun S6 Pro because of its smaller laser spot size. In addition, the engraver does not have a grayscale mode, which would have been a nice feature to have.

The machine is powered by a proprietary LaserBox V1.0 board that uses two A4988 stepper drivers. This is an older board, and it does not have a 32-bit microprocessor like other 3D printer controllers. However, it is still a powerful board and should be sufficient for most applications.

The engraver is compatible with many mature laser engraving software programs, including LaserGRBL and LightBurn. It can be operated under Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, or Linux, and it supports NC, BMP, JPG, PNG and DXF files. It is a great option for anyone looking for an affordable and convenient laser engraver.
