Which Aion warrior is best for you: Gladiator or Templar?

The warriors are the aion tanks. They form the first line of defense in any established mission group. Up there, out front, with the mob of bosses attacking them, praying to the god of ‘Agro Control’, that the healer they teamed up with knows their work.

In aion, there are two classes of warriors, the templar and the gladiator. The class you choose really comes down to two types of players. Those who like pvp, and those who like pve. For aion, templars are for pve and gladiators are for pvp. That’s not to say you can’t pvp a templar, or pve a gladiator, but with the skill and stigmata currently available, they are best suited to play their main roles.

Typical Templar construction

Templars should equip themselves with a sword and shield, no doubt. The shield should be used for blocks and stuns. Equipment stats should always include hp and shield rates. This setup is excellent for PvE and allows the Templars to perform their main roles as the main tank of the greats. Having such a high defense means that heal classes don’t have to heal as much, reducing mana costs and generating less agri for the healer.

This build isn’t bad for PvP either. Having such high defense and health greatly improves your survivability. In individual situations, you will often last longer than other classes, although stigma additions like the Prey ability are essential as they prevent ranged classes from flying away.

Typical gladiator construction

The main weapon of choice is the polearm. With this you will be aoe groups of enemies. Team stats should always include physical attack and critical rate. To deal damage, you must equip a polearm. You will have a higher chance to crit with a polearm, making you a blast damage killer. Burst damage in any pvp situation wins battles, as healers don’t have a chance to heal your target, as they would in a prolonged fight.

Therefore, your team’s stats should be critical, attack power, and health. You will need health as your plate armor will not be as effective against magic attacks. In pve, you will have the role of outside the tank. You will be frank with the Templars, ensuring that the extra mobs drawn do not reach your healers and ranged classes in your party. Having high damage allows you to grab aggro quickly, and your plate armor ensures that the healer isn’t overly stressed when you do.

In conclusion, when you reach level 10, think carefully about what role you want to play in Aion. These two warrior classes share the same base class until level 10, but the game is very different once you have chosen your career.
