The Apple iPad – Why is it so popular?
The iPad has been described by many as a useless device because it is an oversized iPod Touch. I disagree, I think the iPad is much more than that. Considering that Apple sold 3 million iPads in 80 days, I’m obviously not alone. So what makes the iPad better than the iPod touch?
The iPad has a large, high-resolution screen that’s much better for browsing the web, watching movies, and playing games. It’s also incredibly easy to use. You don’t need to read a manual to learn how to use it because you already know. The iPad keyboard is actually very good. This is because you can turn it on its side and make it much larger. However, if you can play the type, I recommend you buy an external keyboard. It has thousands of unique apps, including a really fun one called Plants vs Zombies. iBooks, this is a very useful feature if you want to pack light. Instead of carrying 3 or 4 books, you can carry hundreds on your iPad.
The iPad has a 3G option, but it costs an extra $130 and I can’t see the appeal because if you were thinking of using it on vacation, most hotels have free wifi and many cafes do too.
The iPad is by no means a replacement for a laptop or desktop simply because it’s not as powerful as one, but it’s a lot of fun and well worth the money.
