Seven Hot Women’s Costumes for Halloween 2009
This year as you prepare for Halloween, do you know what costumes will be red hot for women? I have put together a list of what I think will be the most popular and attractive costumes for women this year at Halloween 2009.
7. Year One Costumes – Why is it hot? – Roman society and Jack Black will be all the rage this summer, I predict. Searches for toga suits are already on the rise, due to publicity for the film.
What’s Available: Roman goddess dresses with white loose dresses and gladiator sandals (think Athena’s goddess costume). Toga costumes are back and not just for sorority costumes.
6. X-Men Superhero Costumes: Why It’s Hot: The X-Men Wolverine prequel will rekindle the popularity of older X-Men costumes like Storm and Phoenix, but a new X-woman has also emerged. -Men, Kayla Silverfox, who has healing powers like Logan and plays a central theme in her story.
What’s Available: The Storm and Phoenix outfits are the white and red lycra outfits with Storm wearing a cape and white hair. Kayla Silverfox’s costume can simply be an Indian-style lace-up peasant shirt in black with black pants.
5. Star Trek Costumes – Why It’s Hot – Here’s another movie prequel that brings back vintage costumes. This is the original Star Trek version of the costume (the one from the 1960s) and remade to be a bit more stylish and sexy.
What’s Available: Yellow and blue long sleeve lycra tops and lycra pants will be all the rage, Lieutenant Uhura’s short miniskirt is so hot. Think of the 1960s, wow, wow, red mini dress.
4. Inglourious Basterds Costumes – Why It’s Hot – Taking back the glamor and action of the 1940s will make this movie’s premiere a success. Quentin and Brad couldn’t make a bad movie together. Could they?
What’s available: glamor, glamor, glamor. The women wore short, flowing skirt suits and blazers with cinched waists. Large feathered hats were all the rage. Glamorous long evening dresses with short feather jackets and long silver nozzles.
3. GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra Costumes – Why is it hot? GI Joe’s release this summer is quite different from the comic version and the doll version. Cobra costumes are tight leather jumpsuits.
What’s Available: No costumes have been released for this, which I predict it will be, a blockbuster movie. Keep an eye out for motorcycle leather jumpsuits and their vinyl copies for Halloween
2. Public Enemies Costumes – Why It’s Hot – Johnny Depp is about to make the 1930s fabulous again with the release of Public Enemies in the summer of 2009. Glamor and violence were part of the appeal of the 1930s. While flapper suits were still on the rise in the early 1930s, bodycon suit dresses began to take their place. A lot of glamor in these costumes, with rhinestones, embroidery, feathers and fur.
What’s Available: Sexy costumes for women with suits and short skirts are available for women of any size. Long striped suits are pink and black for adults and children. Lastly, there are the gangster moll costumes, which are fitted dress suits that are buttoned up in the front.
1. Harry Potter Costumes – Why It’s Hot – Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released this summer. Expect more interaction with the female characters as the boys grow older.
What’s Available: Hermoine’s costumes will be just the Gryffindor dresses and her wand, which can be found at any costume store.
