APRNs must earn at least eight hours of CE every two years, and some also have additional requirements. RN license renewals are due in July. The renewal period begins on July 1 of an odd year and ends on June 30th of the following odd year. If a nurse does not renew their license on time, their license will expire. If the license expires after the renewal period, they may have trouble practicing.
