5 tips to clean the interior of your RV before you sell it

If you’re contemplating a mobile home sale, the first thing that probably comes to mind is “what steps would help me sell my mobile home quickly?” You’re not the only seller who wants an answer to this question; Most rig owners feel the same way when it comes to finding a buyer for their RVs. Thoroughly cleaning your RV would be a great first step in achieving your goal. Here is how to do it:

1. Clean the roof and windows first

Start your cleaning project with the vents. Rinse the screens with a hose after removing them. Next, remove any buildup of debris inside the vent. Clean the covers too. Now keep the vents open for some time and turn on the fan. It will help the smelly air to escape. Next, move on to the air conditioner; clean your air filters and vents. Remove cobwebs, if any. As for the windows, first separate and wash their screens and then apply a mild cleaner to them.

2. Get rid of mold

When an RV sits idle for any length of time, it tends to get moldy. If you notice mold growing on the floor, remove it immediately. Otherwise, an offensive musty smell coming from them can put off your prospects. To get rid of this menace, mix one cup of bleach with four cups of water, add it to a bucket, and scrub the floor with a brush. Wash the floor once more with clean water and let it dry. Use a vacuum to get into hard-to-reach corners.

3. Use Appropriate Cleaners for Different Kitchen Equipment and Cabinets

In the kitchen, you need to clean three items: the cabinets, the stove, and the countertop. At first, empty the contents of the cabinets. Use an RV-grade wood cleaner for wood cabinets and a mild cleaner for vinyl-wrapped units. A gentle wipe with a soft cloth is enough to keep veneer cabinets clean. Use only cleaners specified for the cooktop surface. Use warm soapy water for the range hood. Do not rub; otherwise it will damage it. Countertops are usually easy to clean. Wipe it with a soft, damp cloth to make it shine.

4. Disinfect the bathroom

Use a squeegee and a mild cleaner to clean the shower area. Clean the toilet with a brush. Don’t use any strong detergent here as it may damage the surface. Then rinse out the black tank with your garden hose and add deodorant here.

5. Know the areas that need more attention

In an RV, items like door latches and steering tend to get dirty very quickly as most owners overlook them. If you test drive frequently with potential buyers, consider cleaning the steering at least once a day. Door latches are another thing to touch a lot while showing off your RV to future users. Clean them two to three times a week to prevent dirt buildup.

If this is your first time selling, it’s natural to ask yourself “what steps can help me sell my RV online quickly and smoothly?” Prepare it well and start by thoroughly cleaning your equipment. Follow our cleansing regimen for the best result.
