3 Day Facelift: Does It Work?

If you want to improve the appearance of your skin to look years younger, but surgery isn’t your thing, consider the Perricone 3-Day Diet or the 3-Day Facelift.

Dr. Nicholas Perricone has pioneered this diet, which in essence is not just for 3 days. People can follow the diet (and lose weight) for several weeks. But the 3-Day Diet is an intense version of Perricone’s diet edict, and it promises to take years off your skin.

Briefly, this is how it works: You are given a specific diet plan to follow for three days. After the three days, Perricone (and his followers, of whom there are many) argue that his skin will look and feel younger and smoother. Some say you’ll look like you’ve had surgical work done, when in fact you just ate a special diet for a few days.

Perricone calls the 3-day version of his 28-day diet a “starter” diet for the longer version, but says the 3-day version provides great benefit to dieters, with many choosing to undertake the 28-day release, hoping to extend the life of your new look.

The core of the diet is salmon. Try to get wild Alaskan salmon instead of farm-raised salmon. Salmon provides the essential fatty acids that are essential for the success of this diet.

You should eat salmon at least twice a day, although more often is fine, too.

Dieters should also drink green tea and water, have mixed berries and other non-starchy fruits, and enjoy mixed vegetables with homemade vinaigrettes. A small amount of almonds can be added to get more benefits from the fatty acids.

The 3-Day Diet is not about depriving yourself, it’s about adding some very high-quality foods that are exceptionally good for your skin, but some foods are off-limits. These include sugar, caffeine, all processed foods, and most carbohydrates. For the duration of the diet, you will also avoid red meat.

In just three short days, Perricone says, you’ll notice your skin lifted and firmer. Of course, it’s best to continue eating this way after the three days to maintain your youthful appearance. Here is a typical menu for a day of the diet.

For breakfast, you can have ½ cup of oatmeal along with cantaloupe or mixed berries and a handful of raw almonds. You can also choose an egg white omelet with mushrooms, peppers, and spinach, along with some sliced melon and green tea.

For lunch, consider grilling salmon with a natural dressing or cooking it on wood planks. Add a mixed green salad with olive oil and lemon juice or vinegar and another bowl full of mixed berries or melon. Have decaffeinated green tea or spring water to drink.

For dinner, enjoy more salmon (to save time, you can cook it once a day and eat it twice instead of cooking it fresh at each meal), and a mixed green salad dressed with (again) a simple olive oil vinaigrette. olive and vinegar or lemon juice. Non-root vegetables can accompany this meal, such as asparagus, broccoli, or bell peppers.

If you’re hungry, Perricone says snacks are fine and should include items like roast turkey or chicken, a few ounces of plain yogurt, or a handful of raw almonds.

The 3-Day Diet is a simple way of eating that can, in just a few days, tighten and brighten the skin. That alone makes a 3-day trial worth it.
